Thankfully there are ways you can take content you’ve already created and repurpose it so it appears new. Not only does this help you feed your content machine when you’re stumped for ideas, but it also ensures that your audience will remain engaged with your brand. That said, here are six ways to breathe new life into old material.
Break large pieces into smaller ones
You may have larger evergreen content pieces on your property management website, such as eBooks or guides. There’s probably lots of valuable information in these pieces that could be extracted and turned into shorter, more bite-sized items, such as blog posts. Do a quick scan and see if anything inspires you.
Create an infographic
People love visuals and chances are you’ve got some data you’ve gathered for other pieces of content that you could easily turn into a captivating (and very shareable we might add) infographic. The key is to extract the information that your target audience would likely find to be of most value. Then, simply use one of the many available online tools to turn that data into something eye-catching.
Beef up your newsletter
Do you send out a weekly or monthly property management newsletter? If so, you’ve got the perfect vehicle for reviving old, forgotten content. Just find a blog post, article or other material that ties in with your email newsletter theme, write up a blurb and include a link. Not only will this serve to drive moretraffic to your site, but it might also get people interested enough to start clicking around to find additional content.
Develop premium content
In addition to breaking larger content pieces into smaller ones, you may also have the option of taking several smaller pieces and putting them together to form a bigger piece of premium content, such as an eBook or white paper. If it turns out good enough, you might even consider gating it – that is, requiring visitors to enter their email address in order to gain access. This can help generate additional property management leads.
Record a podcast
Podcasts are highly effective marketing tools for a number of reasons. Namely, people today are busy. They’re always on the go. Being able to consume content audibly is convenient for them. It’s also a great way for you to connect with your audience in a new and different way.
Create a video
Last but not least, there is the option to take existing content and bring it to life in a video. There are lots of options for this. You can do live streaming, record “behind-the-scenes” type clips or even use animation. Best of all, existing content like blog posts or FAQs provide excellent material for scripts, so there’s little brainstorming required.
